Genaro Aaron Perez Avendano, alias “El Chamaco”, is an alleged Sinaloa Cartel – Chapitos enforcer who primarily operates in Mazatlan, Sinaloa.
El Chamaco was born on January 7, 1996, in Culiacan municipality, Sinaloa. Chamaco (code number 21) allegedly reports under Mazatlan’s current plaza boss: Victor Manuel Barraza Pablos, alias “El 40”. The group of hitmen that Chamaco leads are often called La Chamakera or La Chamakiza.
On March 12, 2025, some hitmen who worked under Chamaco and El 40 were detained in Mazatlan by Navy soldiers in the Lomas de Ebano neighborhood.

A tactical rig with a “Fuerzas Especiales #21# Chamakera” patch was seized, along with vests with patches showing allegiance to Chapo’s son Ivan Guzman. Also seized was one vehicle, three firearms, four helmets, and tire puncture devices.

Soon after the three men were arrested, Navy soldiers monitored the nearby town of El Zapote and they found more cartel-related equipment. An additional 11 “high-end” vehicles, many of which were stolen, were seized.
El Chamaco is known to have commissioned narco songs like El 21 by Banda Los Mazatlecos, and a whole album from Grupo Registrado de Mazatlan, among others.
Social media accounts have claimed that Chamaco ordered the kidnapping of a local businessman named Sergio Roberto Guzmán Gárate, who was abducted January 9, 2025.

Sergio’s daughter Samantha Guzmán Lizárraga runs a popular video channel focused on cooking and recipes. After the kidnapping, she made multiple videos begging people to help her find her father. As of the writing of this story, Sergio is still missing and what happened to him is unclear.
